Do you have a mentor? Or wish to have one?
I remember falling numerous times and wishing to have a back to lean on; a person who would guide me across all stages of life and will somehow always remind me about the potential I possess.
How wrong was I for wanting a person who would make my life easier!
Eventually, I realized and experienced through the failures of the flower that never bloomed.
A mentor isn’t the person who would guide you at all steps of your life. She/He won’t celebrate all your wins, won’t create a roadmap for you and also won’t continuously push you for staying out of your comfort zone.
Instead, a real master/mentor is the one:
-who would help you with introspection
-who would show you the brighter side but simultaneously will inculcate values into you that would help you align the wrong aspects, rightfully
-who would make you believe in yourself and explain to you about the process of understanding that grass is greener where you water it
-who might not be there to celebrate your success but definitely around when you can’t rise after being down
-who would teach you about the importance of making ‘exploration’ your comfort zone
Summing up, a person who would help you come closer towards yourself by helping you unleash the potential you hold within, indirectly or directly is your mentor.
She/He might not show you the right road but would definitely make you understand the path you are meant to be leading.
Gradually, they make your life not easier but smoother.
